Dr Sharma is native of Himachal Pradesh who completed his schooling (J D Tytler School) and higher education from New Delhi in 1983. After completing his education he joined AIIMS.His next assignment was in Deptt. of Orthopaedics at Lok Nayak JPN Hospital and associated Maulana Azad Medical College and GB Pant Hospital..He went on to head Sushruta Trauma Centre,the first dedicated trauma centre of Delhi.

Prof Sharma has more than 40 years experience  in orthopaedics diseases management including complex and neglected problems.

He has during this period receive s large number if commendations, honours ,certificates by various organizations like Rotary International,Lions Club,DMA etc. He has been awarded fellowship of International Medical Science Academy of his excellent work on VitaminD.He has also received awards from State Government of Delhi ‘Best Service Doctor Award’ in 2012.
